Rotary Youth Exchange Chair Erv Teichmiller with Shantel Pierce, just back from Thailand
Last month I was back in Minocqua, Wisconsin. Two Rotary clubs serve this town, and I love the morning club, which has around 20 members. Fresh off her ~8 months in Thailand, Rotary Youth Exchange student Shantel Pierce spoke about her experience in Thailand. She discussed all the cultural norms she learned, and the wonderful people she met. Shantel said that her youth exchange let her discover her strengths and weaknesses and how to cope with challenges more independently. She also thanked club members for their support in making her trip possible. Long-time Rotarian, and local institution, Erv Teichmiller, heads up the club’s youth exchange as part of District 6220’s very active youth exchange efforts.
