The F-22 Raptor: Life at the Pointy End of the Spear

Captain McInturff is a F-22 Raptor pilot with the United States Air Force 90th Fighter Squadron (FS) in Anchorage, Alaska.

The 187 single-seat F-22 Raptors in the U.S. inventory define air dominance. The 5th Generation F-22’s unique combination of stealth, speed, agility, and situational awareness, combined with long-range air-to-air and air-to-ground capability, makes it the best air dominance fighter in the world by any measure, ever...

The 90th FS is one of the oldest units in the United States Air Force, first being organized as the 90th Aero Squadron on 20 August 1917 at Kelly Field, Texas. The squadron deployed to France and fought on the Western Front during World War I as a Corps observation squadron. Today the 90th Fighter Squadron trains in the fighter missions of offensive counter-air (OCA), defensive counter-air (DCA) and suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD), as well as strategic attack and interdiction.
